Caroline started pottery as a hobby through adult education classes and has steadily increased her practice and skills over time. The majority of her work is wheel thrown, working primarily in stoneware clays. She enjoys exploring the use of slips and colourful glazes that highlight the natural beauty of the clay bodies.

Her work is mostly electric fired, but she also is partakes in regular raku firings where she can be more experimental in her forms and decoration. She particularly likes the fast pace and unpredictability of raku and smoke firings and loves using glaze and smoke decoration to embellish the pieces and highlight the beauty and texture of the clay.

Her aim is to create tactile ceramics that can be functional in form, but also perform in a decorative capacity, bringing interest and joy to the owner.
