My pieces are hand built and I allow the feel of the clay in my hands to dictate their eventual character. I fire my work in a pit, a bonfire or simply a metal dustbin filled with combustible materials.

I burnish the work but do not use glazes, preferring the smoke and fire to infuse the body of the clay.

I value this low-tech approach as it is exciting and unpredictable and makes each piece unique.
