Acrylic on canvas
"Visceral landscape paintings, each piece conveys a sense of endless wonder and imagination. The stylistic approach reminiscent of reflections, memories and dreams combined with reality. These works are thoughtful and moving."
NY Arts Magazine
Peter has had a lifelong interest in the land and its history. How it was shaped, then manipulated by succeeding generations of man.
He’s inspired by its architecture. The structure of a cliff, a stand of winter trees, the rushing of a river, the furrows of a ploughed field.
He also mourns the passing of native peoples, their rich culture and colourful eccentricities. His portraits attempt to capture some of this, before they fade from history.
Peter has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, in one-man shows and group exhibitions in Denmark, in various galleries in and around London and, for over fifteen years, at Artists At Home.
He has received private commissions for landscapes and portraits from the USA to various parts of Europe.
