Mixed media, painting
Working mostly with acrylic paint on canvas, I like to work in multiple layers of paint, along with an array of mixed media; markings with charcoal, crayons, inks, pastes, paper, layers of texture, use of photography and collage, I use brushes, pallette knives, spatulas, drips and scratch work on my pieces. Given a choice, I would always work on a larger scale!
My works are created instinctively. I love bright, bold colours and my goal is to create works that bring life and joy to a room.
I take inspiration from life around me. I love colour and sometimes use photography as a reference that I then abstract – such as buildings, food, colour, light.
Studying abstract art over the years and more recently practising at the Hampstead School of Art, I have now finally moved in to my own studio space in Shepherd's Bush to create and explore the world of abstract art.
I have started to exhibit more over the past couple of years and this year will be exhibiting at Soho House, Wild Thyme Café, Helios Apartments, Surrey Contemporary Art Fair and Artist At Home, and hope to have more to add soon…
