I trained at the University of Reading and have a BA(Hons) in Fine Art and History of Art. I draw inspiration from beautiful wild land and seascapes and my paintings are a celebration of the beauty of the painting process and nature. I love the playfulness of oils and allow the painting to evolve as I work. The handling of the paint is dynamic and intuitive, conveying the immediacy of a playful and joyful sketch. Balancing the figurative and abstract my gestural painterly style gives a suggestion of a scene, recalling memories of the hot summer focusing on the north and south coast of Cornwall. Recently I have been working on a series of vibrant semi abstract floral paintings.
